About
Peter King studied at Glasgow School of Art in the mid-1970s under David Donaldson RSA and Duncan Shanks RSA. He has painted and exhibited consistently while teaching art full time in North Lanarkshire.

The light and colour of the weathered landscapes of Kintyre and The Clyde Valley are a constant source of inspiration for his paintings. The physical immediacy to the changing visual effects of nature on his environment is very important to his art.

He exhibits regularly at the Royal Scottish Academy, The Royal Glasgow Institute, and for several years at The Scottish Shows in Thompson’s Gallery London. Peter’s work is represented in collections across the UK, Europe and North America. Recent paintings featured in Art shop article on contemporary British landscape painting, Sunday Times Magazine, April edition 2000.
