About
In a rich and varied body of new paintings, distinguished landscape painter Andrew Tozer treats us to a year in Cornwall. Tozer, whose Cornish roots run deep, interprets the region with innate sensitivity, keenly aware of its features, landmarks, and subtleties.
This temporal journey has seen the artist venture into new terrains, both in terms of subjects and styles. A series of enchanting winter scenes, rendered in soft, pleasing tones, lends a poetic symmetry to the sparkling seascapes and sweeping harbour vistas that are only to be found in a Cornish summer. Vibrant colours, energetic brushwork, luminous lighting, and a powerful sense of place — the hallmarks of Tozer’s aesthetic — knit the pictures into a swirling cyclorama of seasons and sensations.
