About
Jo Taylor is widely recognised for her equestrian paintings. A keen rider herself, she often features riders, but for the past two years, Taylor has focused upon relationships among the animals she depicts. Liberate, her latest solo exhibition at Thompson's Gallery London, explores the dynamics between horse and horse.
The grounding of Taylor's work lies in the technical accuracy with which she depicts her subjects, gleaned from an artist's residency at the University of Liverpool's Department of Veterinary Science. However, the true joy in this new collection lies in the dynamism, power, and expression that is presented to us in Taylor's unique and engaging style.
